About ReactMeter

Eight fast, free benchmarks for the skills your brain uses every day.

What this is

ReactMeter is a collection of quick cognitive and reflex tests: reaction time, aim, typing speed, and five kinds of memory. Each one takes between thirty seconds and a few minutes, gives you a score, a letter grade, and an estimated percentile, and quietly tracks your personal bests so you can watch yourself improve.

How scores and percentiles work

Your results are compared against statistical models of how players typically perform on tests of this kind. The percentile ("better than 84% of players") is an estimate, not a leaderboard - useful for context and bragging rights, but not a clinical measurement of anything. Grades run from D up to S+.

Your data

Scores, history and streaks are stored in your own browser using localStorage. Nothing you do in a test is sent to a server. Clearing your browser data clears your history; different devices keep separate histories.

Support ReactMeter

The site is free and runs on a shoestring. If you enjoy it, the single most helpful thing you can do is share a test with a friend after you beat their score. The site may also show ads and occasionally recommends gaming gear through affiliate links - if you buy through one, it supports the site at no extra cost to you.
